Tips for Shopping for High Chairs for Infants and Toddlers

Ξ July 29th, 2008 | → | ∇ Shopping |

Like every other infant and toddler product new parents will need to purchase, high chairs come in a huge variety of styles and price ranges today. You can opt for a deluxe high chair that converts into a booster seat, one that reclines, one that attaches almost freely to a table, or a traditional style high chair.

If you want to save yourself some time and potential frustration getting distracted by features, it is a good idea to do two things before you start shopping around for high chairs. First, set a budget you will stick to, and then decide ahead of time what you really need in a high chair.

The two most important features to look for in whatever high chairs you look at are stability and comfort for your child. You will certainly want a high chair that is easy to set up and use, and you definitely want one that is easy to clean. Yet, nothing is likely to be more important than safety, and the biggest potential accident that could occur with a highchair is it tipping over.

If a highchair is uncomfortable for your infant or toddler, he or she will not want to sit in it.

Look for a highchair with adequate padding, and preferably padding that will be very easy to wipe down. Machine washable high chair seats or covers are not nearly as convenient as they might sound. Afterall, who has time to put their highchair cover in the washing machine every day?
